To be granted a California Notary Public commission, you must meet the requirements set by the Secretary of State's office and pass an examination to verify that you have at least a minimum level of knowledge regarding the laws and regulations affecting notary public services. The Notary Public Section has contracted with Cooperative Personnel Service (CPS) to conduct its regularly scheduled examinations at established test centers throughout the state of California. |

For test result or registration history on or after 4/1/06, please call our Notary Call Center at (916) 263-3520 (press 0 for an operator).
If you have already received an email (since 4/1/06) with your new username and temporary password, you may click on “My Account”, log in, click on “Candidate Summary”, then “Correspondence History” to see a copy of your results letter, if it has been processed. Please remember test results will not show until approximately 15 BUSINESS days after your exam.
