"With the recent slowdown in the U.S. economy and travel to Mexico virtually down to nothing, this orphanage has the greatest need for support then ever. There are many ways to help but perhaps the best way to help is to lend a hand on-site if you can. There is always something that needs to be done and you can help."

Hello there,

My name is Daniel Jones and the founder and director of NotaryClasses.com. Our slogan is that “we are not a company, we are a community”.

As a community of notaries, we all have a unique opportunity to support others far outside of the notary profession. Notaries come from many different professional backgrounds and we can offer ourselves in ways that many others cannot.

First of all, we can demonstrate that we have passed a background check by the FBI and the Department of Justice, which provides an important level of comfort to the people and organizations to which we volunteer. Secondly, our education and professional backgrounds are so diverse that our notary community is a rich and valuable resource of knowledge, experience and personal skill.

There are so many organizations to choose that the only way for me to begin this effort is for me to become personally involved. I want to extend a personal invitation to you.

I have recently had an opportunity of being introduced to DJ and Lynette Schuetze, administrators of “La Puerta de Fe” (Door of Faith) orphanage located about 20 minutes south of Rosarito, Mexico. DJ and Lynette Schuetze provide family and home to over 100 children (113 at current count) and they have been doing so since 1993.

“Our children come from every conceivable situation”, explains DJ. “Some children come from parents who are simply unable to care for themselves much less children while others come from the social service system of Mexico, taken away from drug addicted biological parents or even worse situations."Some of our children have been abandoned on the street or in front of the door of a church, and they wind up here."

DJ & Lynette's goals are very much the same as any family:
Family:
To provide family atmosphere for the children. "Just think of us as a really big family with all of the problems and situations of any other family, just multiplied 113 times."

Education: To prepare our children for life after Door of Faith. "We want our children to have a strong education so that that when they move on from the orphanage they can be healthy and productive members of society. For example, one child who came here a a very young age is now in college as a pre-law major."

Community Service:
We want to give back to the local community through service, outreach and compassion. "To love our neighbor as ourselves."

Children’s ages begin from birth and continue until the child has completed his or her education. One young adult who began his stay with the orphanage is now a pre-law major in the university. The newest project is to build a nursery capable of accommodating pre-mature infants. This project is progressing only at the rate that volunteers are willing to lend a hand.

With the recent slowdown in the U.S. economy and travel to Mexico virtually down to nothing, the orphanage has the greatest need for support then ever. There are many ways to help but perhaps the best way to help is to lend a hand on-site if you can. There is always something that needs to be done and you can help.
